What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are lists of new web content that update in real time.

Using an RSS reader (see below) you can store as many feeds as you like in one place, giving you easy access to the latest updates from all your favourite web services.

RSS is normally used for news websites, however, more and more websites are starting to utilize this technology because it makes it easier for web surfers to get the information they need.


Create an RSS Feed?
RSS feeds are created in XML. Feeds can be created using tags that are enclosed in brackets <> very similar to HTML.

How Can I View RSS Feeds?
Several RSS viewers are available online. Try a search for "online RSS Viewer" to get started.

RSS feeds, the files themselves, do not do very much. If you try to view an RSS feed in your web browser and you have Internet Explorer 7 you can see the feed directly, if you have Internet Explorer 6 all you'll see is the raw XML language used to create the the feed. The raw RSS file is somewhat readable in the version 6 browser, however the text is used by other programs that broadcast this information to people using RSS Viewers and Internet Explorer 7.
